It’s Not About You

One of the reasons we get lost and confused so quickly and so easily is that we imagine our thoughts about things, about “the world”, about “others”, about “ourselves”, are more or less accurate and true. But thought, that is, mental images, commentaries, scenarios, and their accompanying physical and emotional baggage are, by nature, incomplete and misleading.Stop torturing yourself! It’s not about you. Stop talking and thinking about everything you imagine to be “yourself” and your life. Suddenly the world, the universe, and even your body and your surroundings will be clear, undisguised, and wide open.

What a relief! What quiet joy. What freedom. What peace.
